It doesn't knock you out, but it does allow the brain to slow down a little if it has been racing. The advantage is, if you wake up earlier for whatever reason you don't feel like you're in a haze.
It's definitely an aid, not a solution. If you're having trouble getting to sleep and just need that little edge to get you there, this works well.

I did not notice a change in the quality of my sleep. The taster is a bit like smarties and has a chalky feel. While it is nice having multiple options the issue I found with this was that getting up to go make the container would end up waking me up.

This is my favorite flavor of AFK and is part of my night routine.
