To me this flavor tastes and smells exactly like the flesh of a lychee nut, which is what I was hoping for. I've seen a lot of reviews describing the scent of GG's lychee tub as vaguely floral or perfumey, which makes sense, you can smell this stuff as soon as you crack open the tub (and it excites me), but the flavor itself is more subtle than I expected from the scent. It's not even overly sugary-sweet like lychee candy or lychee ramune; this is straight-up just the scent and taste of peeling open a lychee with your fingernails. Hard to describe, but the degree of sweetness is more akin to the flesh of a fruit than to concentrated fruit juice. Wild how hard it is to find that but, again, it's precisely what I was after. Frankly I'm just glad to see a straight lychee flavor. Not lychee mango, not lychee rose, not lychee-whatever, just straight lychee. It's what I wanted and that's exactly what it is. And for what it's worth, I like that the pink color of it is a little more translucent and bubblegum rather than opaque and magenta-ish. Really adds to the whole thing feeling sweet but not excessively.
When I see people having difficulty placing their finger on this one and throwing around words like "tea" and "floral" I just assume they don't eat fresh lychee, because that is 100% what this is.
I could totally see why this one's a little more niche than some of GG's other flavors that smack you in the face with how tasty they are. It's subtle and refreshing, and it's become a favorite of mine even though I've tried the bestsellers. This one's an S-tier for me, even though I'll admit it's a niche S-tier.
